At over 350 Ronald McDonald Houses in the U.S., Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) provides temporary housing to the families of sick children during hospital stays. HFG worked with RMHC Wichita to consolidate multiple existing Houses into a hospitality-focused, flagship Ronald McDonald House connected to the campus of Wesley Medical Center. RMHC Wichita inspired our designers with its commitment to alleviating as much stress as possible for resident families. The resulting design weaves uplifting common spaces, immersive playscapes, and private family suites into an environment that empowers families to focus on what is truly important. In the words of RMHC Wichita, “hope has a new home.”
Ronald McDonald House Charities Wichita is a non-profit organization funded by people like you. If you are able, please consider making a donation at rmhcwichita.org.
HFG created the interior space for Wichita’s new 2-story Ronald McDonald House within Wesley Medical Center’s new Health Strategies Building (also renovated by HFG). The facility features 20 suites with private bathrooms that help families stay together while receiving medical care. Public resources available to occupants include a kitchen, dining area, family/gathering space, wet bar, quiet room, gaming area, and playroom. The facility also has a lobby, waiting area, reception, conference/break room, office/administrative space, and laundry services. HFG also designed the renovation for the entire Health Strategies building. The Ronald McDonald House’s space is 18,000 SF.
