Located in northern Kansas, Clay County is home to around 8,000 individuals. This small community rallied around the revitalization of its hospital and worked with HFG to breathe new life into the facility. With these major renovations and additions, the community of Clay County safeguarded the future of healthcare delivery for its citizens.
HFG Architecture designed major additions and remodels at Clay County Medical Center in Clay Center, KS. The new Surgery Department included 6 pre/post operation beds, 2 new operating rooms, a scope room, a central sterile service area, and associated spaces. The addition also included 23 patient care beds, replacing all of the hospital's previously existing patient care rooms. 3 of these new patient care rooms are LDRP spaces. New space was also constructed for a 6 patient Outpatient Special Nursing Area and a USP compliant pharmacy. A new canopy/entry/lobby/admissions was built, which included business offices. The hospital's remodeled areas also house a new Women's Imaging Department; a 12 room Specialty Clinic; an Emergency Department with 2 new trauma rooms and a nursing area; and a new laboratory. Additionally, landscaping and new parking areas were developed on site. HFG Architecture managed construction administration during this successful build.
