18,000 SF project included the creation of drawings and specifications to expand the existing Surgical Suites and Sterile Processing Service (SPS) site location. The design includes structural components with supporting calculations, site location/floor plan sketches and maintained patient access routes/flow patterns during the construction phase. It also incorporates required submittals and construction estimates of probable costs to construct/renovate two additional Ortho Surgical Suites and new S Supply Processing and Service (SPS) to accommodate all of surgery and other SPS services. HFG's team determined size, configuration, and locations of proposed utilities in relation to existing utilities to eliminate conflicts and relocations to the greatest extent possible. The exterior finish of the building matches the existing brick and mortar.
This 15,000 SF project is a 3-story addition of an endoscopy suite, with 5,000 SF per floor. The enlarged space will allow for departmental reallocation of space for I.T. and biomedical engineering purposes and will directly connecting to an existing adjacent building. The linear 5,000 SF site footprint is quite narrow and poses multiple challenges, including being surrounded by existing buildings on all four sides, one of which is registered to the Kansas Registry of Historical Places. During the design process, HFG's team completed a site survey with LIDAR technology to gain accurate measurements of roof heights and other architectural details. The scope of the project also includes a Main Computer Room (MCR).
