The Story:
In order to accommodate this community hospital, HFG presented the client with a customized floor plan that would maximize its ability to serve Smith County. For instance, the hospital’s layout incorporates a unique arrangement in which the Emergency Department and inpatient wing are located next to each other. Because the inpatient wing is not always fully occupied, this allows the wing to serve as an extension of the Emergency Department should a single incident ever result in a high casualty count.
Similarly, HFG worked hard to ensure that outpatient care and clinic services would be fully utilized, thereby reducing the facility’s inpatient costs. The hospital is located next to a senior living residence that was also designed by HFG. This proximity enables prompt care for this elder community. As a firm, HFG excels at looking at the broader picture and customizing solutions that exceed our clients’ expectations.
