This 43,500-square-foot transformation of Nemaha Valley Community Hospital enhances patient care and accessibility for the Seneca, Kansas community. HFG’s master planning in Phase I helped right-size the number of inpatient beds, allowing the hospital to focus on expanding key departments. The 23,500-square-foot addition introduces new emergency, acute care, infusion, and imaging spaces, while the 20,000-square-foot renovation improves the functionality of surgery, labor/delivery, imaging, lab, respiratory therapy, cardiac rehab, oncology, administrative, and medical records departments. Thoughtful wayfinding enhancements improve patient navigation, ensuring a seamless experience. Expanding the imaging and emergency departments required carefully planned phasing to relocate materials management spaces while maintaining hospital operations throughout the three phases of construction.
This project will significantly impact the community by elevating the level of care available to patients by providing access to a state-of-the-art critical access hospital. The expanded emergency and imaging departments, combined with improved surgical and specialty care spaces, will allow the hospital to provide more advanced treatments closer to home. The upgraded facility will enhance patient comfort, improve workflow efficiency for staff, and create a more welcoming and intuitive environment for patients and visitors. By investing in modernized healthcare infrastructure, Nemaha Valley Community Hospital strengthens its commitment to serving the growing needs of the Seneca community for years to come.
