As part of our partnership with the Indian Health Service, HFG has designed three freestanding dormitories for traveling healthcare workers in Montana and North Dakota. By providing staff quarters, IHS can attract and recruit talented caregivers to tribes without further disrupting the housing shortages in these areas. Projects include a new dormitory in Crow Agency, MT to serve both the Crow and Northern Cheyenne Tribes, a new dormitory in North Browning, MT to serve the Blackfeet Tribe, and a new dormitory in Belcourt, ND to serve the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa. On each project, HFG met with both IHS officials and tribal representatives regarding how best to incorporate cultural elements from the tribes into each design.
